MermaidMonday: New Shell Top!

Happy #MermaidMonday fishes!

I am so glad you decided to swim on by the grotto today because boy have I got something special to share with you. My fellow designer, Raiyn, and myself have been hard at work the past couple of weeks working on something special for this years #MarchMermaidMadness festival. This year I will be the head of the mermaid parade at our local harbor and as such it was only fitting that I get myself some new shells to show off. After all one doesn’t just wear anything to visit where the people are right?

Anyways, I’m getting a little off topic. We have been working on a new abalone shell bra for my mersona. So without further ado here is a photo of the top so far:

Road to Labyrinth: Part III

Hello Dearies,

Sorry I have been so quiet, my day job has gotten a bit crazy and I have lost a lot of my free time as a result. but have no fear, I’m back with more magic to share! Over the past couple of months I have been hard at work in my grotto creating lots of new magical updates to share with you all. So lets dive in.

The Fairy Godmother…

Diafaenissia (Di-a-fa-nes-ia) has arrived in our realm and she is looking fabulous in her new gown in preparation for the great ball in the realm of Sypher at the beginning of next month. In a stunning 12 layer dress she glides gracefully over the ground where-ever she goes.

My Progress…

Next up as you may or may not know I will be wearing two seperate ensembles for the ball. On Friday night I will be attending as the Fairy of the Green Forest **Pictures can be found in Road to Labyrinth: Part I** And Saturday night I will be debuting a brand new faesona as a forest spirit who is part unicorn, part humanoid. Things are just starting to wrap up on that costume but it is looking absolutely magical. Unfortunately I do not have too many pictures of the progress as it is very hard to get a full body photograph of yourself. So Please enjoy these progress pictures in the meantime…

Road to Labyrinth of Jareth 2016: Part II

Happy Thursday dearies, I’ve been a busy little bee lately working very hard on some new costumes. But good news! I have an update on my LOJ costume progress. This week I received my last prop accessory for my Saturday night costume! Now unfortunately the lighting in the room made my camera go on the fritz so some of the shots are a bit blurry; magic and technology just don’t mix so great. Oh well. Anyways here are a quick couple of shots of the newest piece from Idolatre on Etsy…

Mermaiding: Taking the Dive

It is time to introduce you all to another one of my personas or should I say Mersona. Back at the end of 2012 I was looking around online for new costuming inspirations for something new to add to my collect when I stumbled upon the most stunning thing I had ever seen. Professional Mermaiding. I am sure some of you may of heard of it because of all the publicity Eric gets as The Mertailor with his TLC spotlight, numerous online interviews ect.. But that cuttlefish is not who I am refering too, I will not go in-depth as to my negative opinion of Mertailor, but I will say that this fish does not consider him worth her time to type about. No, I am refering to Mermaid Raven, owner of Merbella Studios LLC. To make a long story short I knew that this was something I wanted to do.

For several years I did nothing but lurk on the online forum for the community (MerNetwork.com). But last fall for my birthday my wonderful boyfriend gifted me a mahina merfin that I have since made a tail skin for. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of that one currently, however I also have a second fin for work use. Now I am in the process of making this costume so please be gentle in your critism, but this is my current ensemble for my company and I thought I might like to share it with all of you…
